Barbarians At The Table
Feeding Family & Friends…One Cookbook At A Time

Welcome to my scrumptious new column filled with one of my personal obsessions…COOKBOOKS! Let’s face it, the book community loves all things food and drink related. In addition to all of those Pulitzer Prize winning novels, COOKBOOKS line our perfectly sculpted bookshelves as well. Like most of you, I am constantly cooking and feeding the masses. Can you say Barbarians at the Table?
Breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner….I feel like I am on a hamster wheel of endless cooking. I adore making mouth watering food, but I am not going to lie, cooking burnout is a real thing and I suffer from it just like everyone else. Trying to satiate three growing boys (2 teens and a tween) and a husband who are pretty much bottomless pits, while also preparing healthy and fun meals that are practical, and exciting IS NO EASY FEAT. Whether they have worn covers with tattered pages or are glossy and new, cookbooks breathe new life into our kitchen one recipe at a time. They inspire us to try new cuisines, cook outside of our comfort zone and most importantly…get everyone involved in the cooking (and cleaning).
I am so happy you are joining me and my motley crew of men in the kitchen as we cook, eat, and drink our way through…one cookbook at a time!
Cheers to Making a Delicious Mess in Our Kitchens!

Paris Sweets-Great Desserts From the City’s Best Pastry Shops by Dorie Greenspan is not only a guide to some of Paris’ most decadent treats, but also a tribute to some of the most admirable Paris Patisseries. I devoured each page of this scrumptious book over and over again before our trip. I could not wait to visit all of these pastry shops and indulge in all of Paris’ sweetest treats.

Today I am sharing Gordon Ramsay’s latest creation, Quick and Delicious: 100 Recipes to cook in 30 minutes or Less. This book served my family quite a few easy and delectable meals. Even better, recipes in this book take under 30 minutes to prepare. Something I can whip together in 30 minutes without compromising ingredients or taste is what I am always in the market for. This man is officially speaking my love language.
