The Idea of You by Robinne Lee (St. Martin’s Griffin)

This book is coming at you HOT! All I can say is that I LOVED this book and COULD NOT STOP THINKING ABOUT IT when I finished.  It is the ultimate love story…I promise.  This one has a bit of steam, so if you can’t handle the heat…this is not for you.   If you can…Whooo Hooo, ENJOY!

Synopsis:

Solène Marchand, the thirty-nine-year-old owner of an art gallery in Los Angeles, is reluctant to take her daughter, Isabelle, to meet her favorite boy band. But since her divorce, she’s more eager than ever to be close to Isabelle. The last thing Solène expects is to make a connection with one of the members of the world-famous August Moon. But Hayes Campbell is clever, winning, confident, and posh, and the attraction is immediate. That he is all of twenty years old further complicates things.

What begins as a series of clandestine trysts quickly evolves into a passionate and genuine relationship. It is a journey that spans continents as Solène and Hayes navigate each other’s worlds: from stadium tours to international art fairs to secluded hideaways in Paris and Miami. For Solène, it is a reclaiming of self, as well as a rediscovery of happiness and love. When Solène and Hayes’ romance becomes a viral sensation, and both she and her daughter become the target of rabid fans and an insatiable media, Solène must face how her romantic life has impacted the lives of those she cares about most.”

P.S. This “Go Away I’m…Fizzy ” bath bomb is and absolutely necessary and PERFECTION paired with The Idea Of You. Relaxation central!

The Kind Worth Killing by Peter Swanson (William Morrow)

I love, love, love a good thriller.  As you know though, the ending of these fast-paced books can make or break the whole experience.  The Kind Worth Killing was sooooooo good and Swanson NAILED the ending! Need I say more!

Synopsis:

A devious tale of psychological suspense so irresistible that it prompts Entertainment Weekly to ask, “Is The Kind Worth Killing the next Gone Girl?” From one of the hottest new thriller writers, Peter Swanson, a name you may not know yet (but soon will), this is his breakout novel in the bestselling tradition of Paula Hawkins’ The Girl on the Train—and is soon to be a major movie directed by Agnieszka Holland.

In a tantalizing set-up reminiscent of Patricia Highsmith’s classic Strangers on a Train… On a night flight from London to Boston, Ted Severson meets the stunning and mysterious Lily Kintner. Sharing one too many martinis, the strangers begin to play a game of truth, revealing very intimate details about themselves. Ted talks about his marriage that’s going stale and his wife Miranda, who he’s sure is cheating on him. Ted and his wife were a mismatch from the start—he the rich businessman, she the artistic free spirit—a contrast that once inflamed their passion, but has now become a cliché.

But their game turns a little darker when Ted jokes that he could kill Miranda for what she’s done. Lily, without missing a beat, says calmly, “I’d like to help.” After all, some people are the kind worth killing, like a lying, stinking, cheating spouse…

Back in Boston, Ted and Lily’s twisted bond grows stronger as they begin to plot Miranda’s demise. But there are a few things about Lily’s past that she hasn’t shared with Ted, namely her experience in the art and craft of murder, a journey that began in her very precocious youth.

Suddenly these co-conspirators are embroiled in a chilling game of cat-and-mouse, one they both cannot survive…with a shrewd and very determined detective on their tail.”

P.S.  Dunk these decadent Cocoa Sticks into some frothy warm milk for a yummy treat while reading Swanson’s thrilling tale.

Beyond the Point by Claire Gibson (William Morrow)

Claire Gibson wrote an absolute memorable story of female friendship with one of the oldest continuously operated Army posts in the United States, West Point as the backdrop. Her book follows three young women before, during, and after their time at this male-dominated school.  Beyond the Point makes for an excellent book club choice.  I loved the wonderful conversations I had with friends about Gibson’s book.  I hope she writes something else real soon!

Synopsis:

Three women are brought together in an enthralling story of friendship, heartbreak, and resilience. Set at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, this is an amazing debut novel.

Duty. Honor. Country. That’s West Point’s motto, and every cadet who passes through its stone gates vows to live it. But on the eve of 9/11, as Dani, Hannah and Avery face four grueling years ahead, they realize they’ll only survive if they do it together.

Everyone knows Dani is going places. With athletic talent and a brilliant mind, she navigates West Point’s predominantly male environment with wit and confidence, breaking stereotypes and embracing new friends.

Hannah’s grandfather, a legendary Army general, offers a stark warning about the dangers that lie ahead, but she moves forward anyway, letting faith guide her path. When she meets her soul mate at West Point, the future looks perfect, just as planned.

Wild child Avery moves fast and doesn’t mind breaking a few rules (and hearts) along the way. But she can’t outpace her self-doubt, and the harder she tries, the further it leads her down a treacherous path.

The world—of business, of love, and of war—awaits Dani, Hannah, and Avery beyond the gates of West Point. These three women know that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. But soon, that adage no longer rings true—for their future or their friendship. As they’re pulled in different directions, will their hard-forged bond prevail or shatter?”

P.S.  Pair Beyond the Point with this warm hat that I am in love it.  Not only will it keep your head warm, but it supports a very good cause!
